Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell has worked as a chef, TV personality in the United States and a teacher at Institute of Culinary Education. She is host of Secrets of a Restaurant Chef on the Food Network. Anne Burrell, a Food Network celebrity with her signature spiky blonde hair and a exuberant personality, shares easy to learn techniques and eliminates anxiety about restaurant food on her TV show Secrets of a Restaurant. Chef Burrell is also a veteran of New York City's best restaurants. She has also learned about Italy's food traditions and culture, along with the natural environment. As a youngster, growing up in New York's upstate region, Burrell became passionate about food and cooking. She pursued her passion for working in the restaurant business by enrolment at The Culinary Institute of America following the completion of a bachelor's degree in English and Communications from Canisius College, Buffalo NY. The Culinary Institute of America was an unforgettable opportunity for me. The Culinary Institute of America was an excellent opportunity to pursue a degree. Following graduation, Burrell spent one year in Italy studying at the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners and worked in Umbria's La Taverna del Lupo as well as Tuscany's La Bottega del 30, an Michelin-starred restaurant. She gained a deeper understanding of Italian culinary and cultural traditions during her stay in Italy that has informed her style of cooking. Burrell is a part of the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board that brightens the lives of children facing obstacles and is also an Juvenile Diabetic Research Foundation celebrity ambassador, where she promotes the awareness of juvenile diabetes. She frequently travels around the nation in her capacity as a mentor as well as a guest speaker where she discusses her professional life and the joy of cooking. Anne, throughout her entire experience in the kitchen, has declared that it is a privilege to have the opportunity to be able to share this love of food with other people.
